Filming for August: Osage County began a few weeks ago just north of where we live. There have been sightings of George Clooney!! I decided to read this book since the filming and story take place just north of Tulsa. Without doing much research I purchased it on my Kindle, to then find out it is not a novel, but a play. The last play i actually read was "12 Angry Men" in high school. So i decided to give it a go anyway. Reading a play was not bad, however the content was a bit sad and depressing. My guess is that they will need to change things quite a bit when making the movie. I didn't really like any of the characters or the ending. I gave this play a 3 out of 5. I didn't hate it, but i was hoping for more. Maybe I will get more from the movie. On a positive note, i read that the making of the movie should bring close to $14 milling to Oklahoma with remodeling, hotel and house rentals and other filming expenses.
